Elizabeth Williams

Elizabeth Williams, 88, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Thursday, February 10, 2022.

Elizabeth was born in Detroit Michigan and moved to Deridder, LA in 1951.  Her spiritual life was important to her, and she and her family were active members of Mt. Zion Baptist Church of DeRidder until 1973, when she moved to San Francisco.   She worked for many years helping children and seniors.  She was very active and wore multiple hats at Community Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend William Turner. She will be greatly missed by her Bay Area family and friends.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters; Sonji Williams Demby and Joe of DeRidder, LA, Ocie Marie Taylor of San Francisco, CA, Debbie Lee Williams of Arlington, TX, and Jimmie Elizabeth Sanchez and Carlos of Abingdon, MD; niece, Pauline Cotton of Detroit MI; nephew, Leon Grant of Detroit, MI; grandchildren, Kellee Taylor, Morgan Ray, William Snell and Destani, Keni Elizabeth Nooner; great grandchildren, Parker Rose, Willow Renee, Belle Alise, and a host of other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James David Williams; parents, Rufus and Florence Johnson; sister, Margaret Grant; son-in-law, Billy Taylor.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 16, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Burial will follow at Old Cypress Cemetery in Rosepine, LA.
