Elisa Quinones

Elisa Ramos Quinones, 82, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Friday, January 29, 2021.

Elisa loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, family and friends. She was very charitable and would cook for everyone. Her favorite past times were traveling, listening to music, watching Spanish movies (peliculas) and working in her garden with her many flowers. Her favorite places were her native home of Puerto Rico; Panama, Panama; Passaic, NJ; and New York, NY. She was loved and will be dearly missed by all her knew her.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Gerardo Quinones of DeRidder, LA, Jorge Quinones Suarez, Jr. and Cynthia of Baton Rouge, LA; daughters, Wanda Quinones-Toval of DeRidder, LA, Sonia Archield and Carlos of DeRidder, LA, Gladys Quinones-Clark of Silsbee, TX, Rosita Powell of Missouri City, TX, Sandra Yvette Quinones of Ladson, SC; brother, Martin Ramos, Sr. of Melbourne, FL; sisters, Carmine Ramos of Passaic, NJ, Zenida Cabassa, Catalina Suarez-Pereila, both of New York, NY; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jorge Quinones Suarez, Sr.; son, Luis G. Quinones; sister, Rosita Ramos; brothers, Goyo Ramos, Cheo Ramos, Fernando Ramos, Julio Ramos, Pastor Ramos, Pablo Ramos; father, Catalino Ramos; mother, Joaquina Kuinlin.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:10 PM on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in DeRidder, LA. Father Jude Brunnert, M.S. will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Eduardo Quinones, Michael Clark, George Quinones, Nathanil Toval, Joshua Toval, Roosevelt Quinones, Carlos Archield. Honorary Pallbearers will be Gerardo Quinones, Jorge Quinones Suarez, Jr. Burial will follow at Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Leesville, LA.
