Edwin L. (Papa Nick) Nichols

Edwin L. (Papa Nick) Nichols, 85, passed from this life on Thursday, January 12, 2012 at Merryville Rehabilitation center. He was born on April 18, 1926 to C.A. & Florence Ursula Nichols. He was preceded in death by his wife Dovie Lee Hickman Nichols. He was a World War II Veteran, an expert craftsman, farmer and an avid hunter & fisherman. He is survived by his brother Max & wife Rhonda and son Ronnie of the Junction Community; daughter Debbie & husband Michael Clanton of DeRidder and son Pete and wife Cathy of Elkins, AR. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 13, 2012 at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church in the Junction Community. Burial will follow in Cooper Cemetery in DeRidder. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church in the Junction Community.
