Edith Linn Hogan

December 19, 1943 - August 5, 2014

Edith Linn Hogan, 70, of DeRidder, LA, left this earth for her eternal home on Tuesday, August 05, 2014 at her home.  Edith was a member of Grace Church and New Life Baptist Church in DeRidder and was also a member of DeRidder Lion’s Club.  Edith was a lover of life and a people person like her daddy, Snookie.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Reverand Bill Hogan of DeRidder; stepsons, Brad Phelps and wife Debbie of Tomah, WI, and Kenny Phelps of Lake Charles, LA; step daughters, Katherine Phelps of Korea, and Heather Gonzalez and husband Jeremy of Baytown, TX; brother, Ardis Alston and wife Elaine of DeRidder, LA; grandchildren, Christopher Phelps of Miami, FL, Stephanie Phelps of St. Louis, MO, Bailey and Major Gonzalez of Baytown, TX; great grandchild, Ayden Phelps of St. Louis, MO; niece, Shari Cooley and husband Kevin B., nephew, Scott F. Alston, great niece, Isabella Grace Cooley all of Lake Charles, LA.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Lafayette Franklin “Snookie” and “Ms. Lucy” Alston; first husband, Jerry Patrick Phelps; and nephew, Ardis Alston, Jr.

Visitation will be held Thursday, August 7, 2014 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Grace Church in DeRidder.  Funeral service is Friday, August 8, 2014 at 2:00pm at Grace Church.  Burial will follow at Beauregard Cemetery in DeRidder.  Rev. Lynn Clayton, Rev. George L. Glass, Rev. George Lee Glass, and Rev. Jimmy Glass will officiate.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grace Church, New Life Baptist Church or DeRidder Lion’s Club.
