Eddie Handy

Eddie Ray Handy, 64, of Merryville, LA, passed from this life on Wednesday, February 9, 2022.

Those left to cherish his memory are his brothers, Alvin Earl Handy and Mildred Janette of Sweeney, TX, Stephon Handy of Beaumont, TX, Jerry Handy and Shelia of Lufkin, TX and Phillip Oliphant of San Antonia, TX; sisters, Gloria Jones and Luther J. of Bon Wier, TX, Earlene Bowen of Newton, TX, Deon Rideau of Palmetto, LA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Filmore Matthew and Creola Oliphant.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2022 from 9:00 AM until the time of funeral service at 11:00 AM at True Light Baptist Church, in Merryville, LA. Pastor Alan Hadnot will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be; Luther P. Jones, Gregory Handy, Clyde Jackson, Jerry Handy, Jr., Israel Bowen, Stephan Handy, Jr., Xavier Oliphant. Honorary Pallbearers will be Alvin Handy, Stephan Handy, Jerry Handy, Phillip Oliphant, Luther J. Jones, Glenn Rideau. Burial will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Hemphill, Texas.
