It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Earl V. Stowe, who left us on December 19, 2024, at the age of 71. Born on July 31, 1953, in Conroe, Texas, Earl made his home in DeRidder, Louisiana, where he spent his days working as a wood hauler in the logging industry.
Earl was a family man through and through. He cherished his wife, Joyce Stowe, and took immense pride in his children and his beloved grandchildren. Nothing brought him more joy than watching his grandkids play baseball, creating memories that will be treasured forever. Earl also loved traveling to Texas to fish, finding peace and happiness near the water.
Known for his friendly and outgoing personality, Earl had a gift for connecting with people. He could always be found sharing stories and laughter over a good cup of coffee with friends, brightening the day of everyone around him.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of twenty-two years, Joyce Stowe of DeRidder, LA; son, Timothy Purdy and Lakaybra of DeRidder, LA; daughter, Melissa Deans of DeRidder, LA; sisters, Annie McCants of New Caney, TX, Dorothy Nelson of Centralia, Washington, Betty Ann Bailey; grandchildren, Ryan Phillips and Sarah, Alex Phillips, Josh Deans, Travis Deans, Kinzlee, Knox, Kowan, Clint Armstrong and Lakin, Cody Armstrong; great grandchildren, Rowdy, Audrina, Maverick, Payton, Nora Jean, Levi, Miley, Kingston and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard Lee "Sam" and Lillie Marie Stowe; brother, Chuck Stowe; sisters, Earline Reynolds, Margie McClesky; son, Eugene Whittington; daughter, Angela Brown.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 23, 2024, from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Sister Betty O'Banion, Brother Sherman Clark will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Ryan Phillips, Alex Phillips, Timothy Purdy, George Whitehead, Marshall Brister. Burial will follow at Beauregard Cemetery in DeRidder, LA
Earl will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for his laughter, his love of family, and his unwavering kindness to everyone he met.
