Earl Gene Colton, Sr.

Earl Gene Colton, Sr., 77, of Deridder, LA, departed this earthly life on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Deridder Retirement & Rehab Center with his family by his side.

Mr. Earl Gene Colton, Sr. was born to the late James and Pearline Colton on January 26, 1947.

Earl, Sr. was reared in DeRidder, Louisiana, and he attended Carver High School. He later met and married Rosia Lee Rodgers Colton and to this union, one son was born.

He was a very disciplined and hard worker. Earl worked for Adams Pest Control for nineteen years. He also worked for Rainwater Roofing until his health began to fail.

Earl, Sr. leaves to cherish his memory one son, Earl G. Colton, Jr. and Melanie of DeRidder, LA; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends who were very close to him and will miss him dearly.

Earl, Sr. was preceded in death by his wife, Rosia Lee Rodgers Colton; parents, James, Sr. and Pearline Colton; brothers, James, Jr., Johnny Ray, Artis, Booker T., Jake B., George C. Colton; sisters, Leslie Jones, Ethel Colton.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2024 from 9:00 AM until the time of the funeral at 10:00 AM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Reverend Daniel Stafford will officiate the service.
