Douglas Eugene Cooper

Douglas Eugene Cooper, 87, of Merryville, Louisiana, passed from this life on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at his home. Mr. Cooper was a World War II Veteran. He worked as a pipefitter at PPG for 29 years. Douglas was a great Daddy and Papa.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Shirley Cooper; sons, Olon Lafate and wife Melissa, Cord Randall and wife Melody and Chad Douglas and wife Christine; daughters, Shawnee Renee’ Franks and husband Michael and Robbin Janell Hebert and husband Carl all of Merryville, LA; grandchildren, Corey, Joey, Kaitlyn, Reyhana, Douglas, Chelsea, Jacob, Peyton, Collin, Chance, Marisa, Morgan, Justin; Cody, Brady and  Alexis; great grandchildren, Kaydence, Corbin, Sophie, Jasper, Chloe, Baylee, Lainee and Lydia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Madye and Lafate Cooper and brother, Ralph Cooper.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2012 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA and also on Friday, December 14, 2012 beginning at 9:00am until time of service. Funeral service will be Friday, December 14, 2012 at 11:00am at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Bivens Cemetery in Bivens, LA.
