Donald "Donnie" Harper 64, of DeRidder, Louisiana passed from this life on Saturday, January 15, 2011
at home surrounded by family and friends. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 17, 2011 from 4:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, Louisiana and again on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at Grace Church in DeRidder, Louisiana. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. at Grace Church. Rev. George Glass, Jr., Rev. George Lee Glass & Rev. Jimmy Glass will officiate. Interment will follow at Shiloh Cemetery in DeRidder, Louisiana.

Donne graduated from Merryville High School in 1965. He served in the Military from July 1966 to June 1968. After  his military service he worked at the Paper Mill in Evadale, Texas until starting at Calcasieu Paper Mill in Elizabeth, LA. Donnie then traveled  on construction jobs working in chemical plants, refineries and paper mills until he started at Bosie Paper Mill in DeRidder, LA. He worked there until he retired, December 21, 2010.  Donnie was a member of Grace Church where he served previously as assistant head usher, making everyone feel welcome when they came through the doors for several years.

He is survived by Wife of 40 years: Eunice "Ann" Harper of DeRidder, LA; Daughter: Monna Myers & husbad Keith of Dry Creek, LA; Sons: Harland "Buddy" Harper & wife Jo of Coushatta, LA, Donald Ray Harper, Jr. &  wife Denise of Port Byron, IL; Sisters: Bobbie Evans of Sulphur, LA, Betty Young of Vinton, LA; Brother: Billy Joe Harper, Sr. & wife Regina of Merryville, LA; Grandchildren:PJ Olivier of Moss Bluff, LA, Jacob Harper of Shreveport, LA, Keesha Myers of Dry Creek, LA, Justin Harper of Coushatta, LA, Adam Brown of Dry Creek, LA; Great Grandchildren:
Zackary, Zoe & Zailey Olivier of Sulphur, LA.

Preceded in death by Parents - Frank Neely & Mittie Fowler Harper; Brother - Frank Louis Harper.
