Don M. "Donnie" Cline

Don M. “Donnie” Cline, 73, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Wednesday, September 20, 2023.

After graduating from DeRidder High School in 1968, Donnie went to work for Brown and Root and was on the crew for the construction of Boise Cascade.  He then went to work for Boise Cascade, retiring as a supervisor after 38 years.  Because of Donnie’s great love for children and his servant’s heart, he decided to spend his time driving a school bus for the Beauregard Parish School Board and Beau Care.  Donnie married the love of his life, Libby, on June 12, 1971.  This Godly marriage of 52 years gave him the blessing of being call Dad by 3 children and Papa by 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.  His relationship with Christ was his most prized possession.  Donnie showed the characteristics of a Godly man and was a great example to all he met.  He loved the Lord with all his heart and spent 43 years as a leader at Ludington Baptist Church.  Over this time, he led music, was a youth minister and even preached a few services.  Reading his Bible was a priority and sharing his testimony was done through telling his story, serving others and loving unconditionally. Being with his family was his greatest joy.  He was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order, a designation that he shared with his father, brother, 2 sons and oldest grandson.  He loved lake life and going to the beach, hunting, fishing and LSU. He was a friend to all he met, making each person feel as though they were family.  Donnie will be greatly missed but the impact that he had on others will live on.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of fifty-two years, Elisabeth “Libby” Cline of DeRidder, LA; sons, Jason Cline and Kim of Lumberton, TX, Kevin Cline and Michelle of Lumberton, TX; daughter, Micah Cline Lambert and Scott of DeRidder, LA; brother, Randy Cline and Earline of DeRidder, LA; brother-in-law, Rick Atteberry of DeRidder, LA; grandchildren, Kennedy Cline, Dakota Cline and Madison, Ryleigh Cline, Sydnie Cline, Mason Cline, Marleigh James, Charlee James; great grandchild, Hallie Cline and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Bonnie Cline, III; sister, Cala Sue Atteberry.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 24, 2023 from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 2:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Brother Henry Hebert will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Dakota Cline, Mason Cline, Chad Farris, Scott Farris, Cade Farris, Dennis Farris. Burial will follow at Cooper Cemetery in Merryville, LA.
