Dewilla Kay Fowler

Dewilla Kay Sanders Fowler, born on July 28, 1957, in DeRidder, LA, passed away on October 8, 2024. She was a loving mother to her four children and was known for her passion for bingo, her adoration of Chihuahua puppies, rocking babies, and making dumplings for her family.

Dewilla worked in the food industry as a food cook and enjoyed sharing her culinary creations with her loved ones. Her warm smile and caring nature will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Dewilla was preceded in death by her husband, Kelvin Fowler, Sr.; parents, Burlin and Dorothy Sanders.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Joseph Ford and Renee of DeRidder, LA, Kenneth Fowler and Sharon of DeRidder, LA, Alicia Day and Paul Dearmon of Rosepine, LA, Kelvin Fowler, Jr. of DeRidder, LA; brother, Dwayne Sanders and Janet fo DeRidder, LA; sisters, Sandra Leger and Charles, Brenda Lattea and Tony Guidry, both of Jennings, LA; grandchildren, Casey Day, Payton Day, Dustin Day, Jayden Fowler, McKinly Fowler; great grandchildren, Mason, Brandon, Gary and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. 

A funeral service to honor and remember Dewilla will be held at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA on Friday, October 11, 2024, at 10:00 am. Prior to the service, there will be a public visitation on Thursday, October 10, 2024, from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Brother Ricky Wead will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Corey Lott, Jayden Fowler, Rodney Fowler, Brady Moore, Scott Lindsey, Daniel Brister. Honorary pallbearer will be Dustin Day. Burial will follow at Cannon Cemetery in Merryville, LA.

Though Dewilla may no longer be with us, her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace.
