Derek Lynn Galloway

Derek Lynn Galloway, 41, of Merryville, LA, passed from this life on Saturday, December 10, 2022.

Derek was a kind soul with an ear-to-ear smile that was contagious. His heart was so big that he would help anyone he could when he had the means. Derek loved fishing and you would be sure to find him outdoors; the only time he was inside was when he was sleeping. Derek was loved by all who knew him and will be dearly missed.

Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Debbie Beard of Merryville, LA; sister, LeAnn Beard of DeRidder, LA; niece and nephews, Brayden Jackson, Kinsley Jackson and Elijah Clark; grandmother, Betty Galloway of Merryville, LA, lots of  aunts and uncles whom he loved dearly and a host of cousins, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, George R. Walker; grandfather, Malvern C. Galloway; aunt, Barbara Galloway Rico; cousin, Cody Galloway.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 16, 2022 from 9:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 AM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in Deridder, LA. Pastor Jason Fortenberry will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Lee Shuff, Joshua Lewis, John Lewis, Joe Stark, Paul Galloway and James Stark. Burial will follow at Hennigan Cemetery in Merryville, LA.
