Delora Lee Gill

April 17, 1935 - February 2, 2015

Delora Lee Gill, 79, of Pitkin, LA, passed from this life on Monday, February 2, 2015 in DeRidder, LA.  Mrs. Gill graduated from Sugartown High School in 1953. She worked for Jouban’s Shoe Store for 20 years and was a Sunday school teacher for 50 years at Smyrna Baptist Church.  Mrs. Gill was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.  Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Dennis Gill and wife Melissa of Cypress, TX; daughters, Brenda Anderson and husband David of Cole Central Community, LA, and Patty Adams and husband Serrhel of Fayetteville, AR; sisters, Jean Cox of Pitkin, LA, and June Craft and husband Glenn of DeQuincy, LA; grandchildren, Dustin Gill, Patrick Gill, Amanda Milner, David Clendening, Jody Clendening, Casey Anderson, Brandon Schales, Megan Schales, Rachael Adams, Nicholas Adams, and Kim Johnson; and 13 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Nancy Weldon; brothers, Melvin, Jimmy Joe, and Morris Weldon; and sister, Doris Slaydon.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 3, 2015 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA.  Funeral service is Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at 11:00am at Smyrna Baptist Church in Sugartown, LA.  Burial will follow at Smyrna Cemetery.  Rev. Frank Ott and Rev. Tim Lee will officiate.
