Delma Leatrice Wisdom Davis

Delma Leatrice Wisdom Davis, 97, of Longville, LA, passed from this life on Monday, December 11, 2023.

Delma’s family moved to the Lake Charles area during World War II, she met and married Phillip Davis in January, 1948. She was a Sunday School Teacher and member of Westlake Methodist Church. Delma and Phillip, along with their children moved to Longville in the early 1970s. She joined Longville First Baptist Church and remained a member until her passing. Delma’s hobbies included sewing and tending to the abundance of flowers in her yard, she loved to mow grass and sit on the front porch swing and read the newspaper. Delma was a huge Elvis Presley fan; she owned an extensive collection of Elvis memorabilia and loved his music.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Phyllis Gale Davis Bennett and Bill Bennett of Longville, LA; sons, James Stevenson of AR, Eddie Kent Davis and Angie of Hazel, TX, Phillip Wannie Davis, Jr. of Houston, TX; sister, Nelda Benson of OH and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Wannie Davis, Sr.; sons, Don Stevenson, Royce Hamilton Davis; parents, Hamilton and Ola Wisdom; brothers, Leeman Wisdom, Gerald Wisdom, Russel Wisdom; sisters, Avis Simmonis, Judy Landry, Cindy Sharon.

Graveside funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, Thursday, December 14, 2023 at Magnolia Cemetery in Ragley, LA. James Patterson will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Ragley, LA.
