David "Larry" Amerson

David “Larry” Amerson, 71, of Merryville, LA, passed from this life on Tuesday, December 11, 2018. Known as “Blue” to many, he loved to fish and build things in his workshop. He was an operator at Kirby sawmill for many years.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 22 years, Joyce Amerson of Merryville, LA; son, Scott Larence Amerson of Merryville, LA; daughters, Elizabeth Marie Amerson of Merryville, LA and Alma Estelle Woodard & Jason of Lumberton, TX; brother, Phillip Douglas Amerson of Merryville, LA; sister, Lydia Susan Gill & Jesse of DeRidder, LA; grandchildren, Frankie Miller, Lyndsay Amerson, Colt Woodard, and Van Woodard; and a host of other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Ida Amerson; the mother of his children, Lynda Amerson; brother, Paul Amerson; nephew, Frankie Amerson.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 12, 2018, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM  at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM, Thursday, December 13, 2018 also at Myers Colonial Funeral Home.  Pastor Jason Fortenberry will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Merryville Cemetery in Merryville, LA.
