David Earl Ruston

David Earl Ruston went to meet the Lord on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2023.

David lived in Sun City Center, FL.  He passed away at the age of 78, after a brief illness at South Bay Hospital in Sun City Center, FL.

David was born on April 4, 1945 in DeRidder, LA.  He graduated from Merryville High School, and attended USL, (now UL) in Lafayette, LA.  David was in the Navy during the Vietnam War.  He lived in Bowling Green, KY for a while before moving to Sun City Center, FL.  David was an avid golfer and loved playing golf with his significant other,  Mary Anne Flynn, and according to David, he always won.  They enjoyed traveling together to visit family, which was very important to them.  David loved going on cruises , watching westerns and sports.

Those left to cherish his memories are his children, John Joseph Ruston, David Ruston and wife, Danielle, also three grandchildren.  His brother, John Edgar Ruston, Jr., and wife Sherry.  His sister, Martha Janette Ruston Spetz and her husband, Gary.  He also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

David was welcomed into heaven by his dad, John Edgar Ruston, Sr. , his mom, Mildred Bass Ruston, his sister, Sandra (Sandy) Lynn Ruston Tidwell, and his life-long partner Mary Anne Flynn.

David will be laid to rest at 11:00 am on Sat., Dec. 16, 2023 at the Quicksand family cemetery, in Buckhorn, TX.  He will be buried alongside  his mom and dad, Mildred and John E. Ruston.  Along with his great-great grandparents, Frances and Mary Newton, great grandparents, Doc and Newton Stark and his grandparents Jeff and Erma Ruston.  The family will have the blessing of being united all together for eternity.
