Daniel Lee Booth

Pastor Daniel Lee Booth, 63, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Wednesday, June 21, 2023.

Daniel “Dan” Lee Booth was a loving husband, father, pastor, and friend.

He was born to Raymond “Coy” and Rosanne Rountree on October 12, 1959, in Houston, TX, and left this world on June 21, 2023, at the age of 63. Dan graduated from Channelview High School and immediately joined the US Navy and was assigned to the USS Lexington stationed in Pensacola, FL. In 1977, he was invited by a fellow shipmate to Ferry Pass Pentecostal Church on Davis Hwy. There he received the Holy Ghost and was baptized in Jesus’ name. He also met the love of his life there, Dana. They were married on October 6, 1978. In 1981, they welcomed their first child, Amanda, and one year later, their son, Ryan, was born. Dan worked very hard to spoil them and made sure they were well taken care of. One of his greatest joys in life was being “Pawpaw” , not only to his own grandchildren, but also to so many others and he loved them just as his own.

He pastored for twenty plus years, and in the last seventeen years, he pastored Turning Point Apostolic Church in DeRidder, LA. His heart for building the Kingdom of God on earth is evidenced by the many lives touched and countless testimonies given by others.

There will never be another person like Dan Booth.  Over the last sixty-three years, he has accomplished so much. He could fix anything and always had perfect patience in every situation. He was a father to many and a friend to all. He never hesitated to help anyone and never asked for anything in return. He was a perfect example of selflessness. He is loved and cherished by his family, his congregation, and his friends. His faith in God never wavered, even in his final days. He has earned the ultimate reward and is forever healed.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Dana Booth of DeRidder, LA; son, Ryan Booth and Brandy of DeRidder, LA; daughter, Amanda Reed and David of DeRidder, LA; brothers, Tim Booth and Tracy of Loxley, AL, Mark Booth of AR; grandchildren, Kaylee(Bryce), Lauren(Parker), Justin(Leah), Haylee, Caleb, Mylee, Amanda(Corey); great grandchildren, Art, Mason, Elias; the children of Turning Point Apostolic Church, Brian Jones of Destin, TX and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Franklin and Rosanne Booth, Raymond Coy Roundtree; brother, Joel Booth.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Turning Point Apostolic Church in DeRidder, LA. Visitation will continue Sunday, June 25, 2023 from 12:00 PM until the time of the Funeral service at 2:00 PM also at Turning Point. Pastor Larry Webb will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Bobby Guichet, Gary Ford, Adam Johnson, Ronnie Walley, Mike Bailey, Mark Booth, Justin Reed. Burial will be Monday, June 26, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Leesville, LA.
