Cree Samuel-Green

Cree Ajanta Lanay Samuel-Green was born July 24, 1991 to the late Aquanetta Samuel. She accepted Christ at an early age at Antioch Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. John Dartez and later moved her membership to Walnut Grove Baptist Church under the leadership of Elder Maurice Bynum.

Cree was a graduate of the Merryville High School Class of 2010 and attended SOWELA Technical College.

Cree aka “Kriola” was known for her infectious smile, kind and loving heart, her love for music and poetry and most of all her love for her entire family and friends.

Cree spread her wings and relocated to Atlanta, GA where she was employed at The Fulton County Registration and Election.

She met and later married the love of her life, Kenyarda Green.

She leaves to cherish her memory, wife, Kenyarda Green; son, Tristian Givens; siblings, Jacinta Ashworth (Mark), Sharonda Wiley (Harrison), Jacqueline Jackson (Eddie), Corwin Samuel (Tanisha), Carla Hadnot, David Samuel (Mindy), Kadeem Hudson (Laura), and Jalen Samuel; ten nieces, ten nephews, two great nieces, six great-nephews; a host of cousins that loved her dearly; godmother, Florence Garner and a devoted friend, Kara Slaydon.

She is preceded in death by her mother, grandparents and godfather, Aloise Garner.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 18, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Funeral service will be at 12:00 PM, Saturday, November 19, 2022 at The River Church in Merryville, LA. Elder Maurice Bynum will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Torin Williams, Tevin Williams, Olan Williams, Nathan Williams, Quentin Williams, Richard Palmer, Daniel Hickman, Edward St. Romain, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Corwin Samuel, David Samuel, Kadeem Hudson, Jalen Samuel, Harrison Wiley, Jr., Mark Ashworth, Eddie Jackson, Jr. Burial will follow at Beauregard Cemetery in DeRidder, LA.
