Visitation will be held on Friday, October 1, 2010 from 5:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M. at Boxwood Church of Christ in Bivens, Louisiana. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at 4:00 P.M. at Boxwood Church of Christ in Bivens, Louisiana. Bro. Travis Murray, Bro. Glen Westmoreland & Pastor Jason Fortenberry will officiate. Interment will follow at Meadows Cemetery in Merryville, Louisiana.

Mr. Jeans is survived by Wife: Marion Jeans of Merryville, LA; Sons: Wesley Jeans & wife Rhoda of Merryville, LA, Jeffery "Red" Jeans & wife Celeste of Merryville, LA, Daniel "Boone" Jeans of Merryville, LA; Daughters: Janet Daniels & husband Dennis of Merryville, LA, Danielle "Neil" West & husband John of Merryville, LA; Special Friends: Jimmy McCaig of DeRidder, LA, Eugene Morrison of Merryville, LA; Sisters: Helen "Bob" Franks of Merryville, LA, Maxie Stephens of Merryville, LA, Rita Appleton of Moranci, AZ, Regina Grat of Merryville, LA; 11 Grandchildren; 11 Great Grandchildren.

Preceded in death by Mother - Betha Jeas; Father - Arthur Jeans; Brother - Bradyse Jeans; Sister - Beatrice Chandler; Sister - Billie Fay Roby.

Mr. Jeans retired from the Louisiana State Highway Department after 32 years. Being an avid, hunter he was well known for his hunting skills. He loved his family and friends. His second greatest love was the river bottom where he spent many hours with his walker hounds.
