Charles Milton Farris

Charles Milton Farris, 80, of Merryville, LA, passed from this life on Thursday, June 6, 2024.

Charles owned and operated C. Farris and Sons Construction for twenty-nine years. Everyone knew you could find him any day of the week at the Waffle Shop, the Stadium, the bank, or any number of other places he liked to stop and visit. Charles was known for his swagger and was always in his cowboy hat and starched jeans. He really enjoyed hog hunting and his hog dogs, but most of all he loved his boys and grandkids. He is loved and will be missed by all who knew him.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Chuck Farris and Shonda of Merryville, LA, Heath Farris and Cassandra of DeRidder, LA; daughter, Tammy Buller and Dan of TX; brothers, DeWayne Farris and Kathy of Texas City, TX, D.C. Farris of DeRidder, LA, Bruce Farris and JoAnn of DeRidder, LA; sisters, Joan Mitchell and Doug “Bud” of Merryville, LA, Judy Kulaga of DeRidder, LA, Carolyn Benoit and Chico of DeRidder, LA; grandchildren, Micah Ramirez and Michael, Kynlee Farris, Addy Lambert, Mavryk Farris and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Velma Farris; brother, Dennis Farris; son, Robert Jones; grandson, Jett Allen Farris.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2024, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM, Sunday, June 9, 2024, also at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA.  Reverend Eric Wead, Reverend Phillip Davidson and Matt Walker will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Beau Grubbs, Michael Ramirez, Shannon Dougherty, Clifton Dougherty, Jeremy Mitchell, Eric Wead, Dennis Farris. Honorary Pallbearers will be Van Eaves. Burial will follow at Cooper Cemetery in Merryville, LA.
