Carolyn "Kay" Marcantel

Carolyn "Kay" Marcantel, 78, was born on September 10, 1946, and passed away peacefully in her sleep at home in Vidor, TX, surrounded by loved ones on December 29, 2024.

Kay also known as "Granny Kay" was a magnificent woman who loved cooking, fishing and gardening, but her greatest passion was spending time with her family.

Those left to cherish her memory are her spouse, Jimmy Stout of Merryville, LA; daughter-in-law, Tanya Ellis; her grandchildren, Justin Sliman and Rusha of Vidor, TX, Jason Sliman and Michelle of Gillett, WY, Josh Sliman and Kari of New Rochelle, NY, Kaci Sliman of Vidor, TX; great grandchildren, James, Kylie and Jay, Blake, Hailey, Evan, Khole, Joshua, Kinsley, Trey, Asha, Kaysun and one great-great grandson, Christopher, on the way. 

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Douglas Myers; her sons, John Sliman and James Sliman; the father of her children, Nelby "Jim" Sliman; her parents, Elmer Marcantel and Lue Cole.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 6, 2025, from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 12:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Burial will follow at Merryville Cemetery in Merryville, LA.
