Bobby Wayne Downs

Bobby Wayne Downs, 58, of Lake Charles, LA, passed from this life on Thursday, June 6, 2019.

Those left to cherish his memory are his spouse, Krystal Downs of Crowley, LA; son, Robert Downs and Shelley of Wichita, KS and Matthew Ross of Salt Lake City, UT; daughters, Amber Downs and Scott Trahan of Lake Charles, LA, Christa Castle and Travis of Martinsville, VA, and Miranda Downs of Crowley, LA; father, Elvis Downs of Wichita, KS; brother, James Downs of Wichita, KS; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Nellie Downs; brother Michael Downs and two granddaughters.

Bobby spent his life becoming a jack of all trades, master of none. He taught his children that a love of learning was more important than mastery of a skill. He is remembered by many for his clever wit and goofy antics. Many more people than can be listed here counted him as a father figure, and all will miss him dearly.
