Home-going services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at New Hope Baptist Church, DeQuincy, Louisiana for Billy Ray Franks, 82 who passed away at his residence. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 11, from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at New Hope. Pastor Roland Hebert will be officiating; burial will be in the Spikes Cemetery at Bancroft.
Billy Ray is survived by his wife, Ramona Franks, one daughter, Ruth Franks Eckert and her husband, Monte, one son, David Franks and his wife Kim, three grandchildren, Laiken, Ethan, and Brandon Franks, one sister, DeCarma Perkins and many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
Billy Ray loved people and loved to tell stories, but he especially loved to share the Gospel of Jesus with others and touched so many lives with his dry sense of humor and handshake. He was a man of great faith and had a servant’s heart; he left an imprint on the hearts of all who knew him. He has served as a deacon at New Hope Baptist Church for several decades. Also, he was a Gideon and a member of the Louisiana and Beauregard Cattlemen’s Associations.
