Betty Joan Austin

Betty Joan Austin, 81, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Friday, August 1, 2018.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Wallace Alwell, Sr. and Joyce of Bryan, TX, Albert Alwell, Sr., of Navasota, TX, Charles Alwell and Pam of Winters, TX and Timothy Austin and Cinda of DeRidder, LA; daughters, Dorothy RipKoski of Merryville, LA, Marylynn Lee and Ron, Sr. of Ft. Myers, FL, Rachel Simon and Joe of DeRidder, LA, Detra Beauchamp of Merryville, LA, Elizabeth Graves and Richard of Bloomburg, TX and Rebecca Whiddon and Jimmy of Trinity, TX; sister, Orpah Gertrude  Austin of Tyler, TX; thirty-one  grandchildren, forty-seven great grandchildren and a host of other Family and Friends. Mrs. Austin was preceded in death by her husbands: Ivy Alwell, and Curtis Austin; and her parents, John and Mary Buchanan.

Visitation will be held on, Sunday, August 5, 2018 from 3:00 – 9:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA.  Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM, Monday, August 6, 2018 also at Myers Colonial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Whitaker Cemetery in DeRidder, LA.  Brother Dale Howard and Brother Kenneth Gibson will officiate the service.  Pallbearers will be, Phillip Buchanan, Keven Buchanan, Dustin Springer, Robert RipKoski, Timothy Austin, Brandon Austin.  Honorary pallbearers will be, Wallace Alwell and Jimmy Whiddon.
