Bennett Curt Simmons

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bennett Curt Simmons of DeRidder, LA, who left us on January 15, 2025, at the age of 66. Born on August 30, 1958, in Kinder, Louisiana, Curt was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many.

Curt made his mark in life as a dedicated logger and skidder operator, spending countless hours outdoors enjoying the work he loved. He was not just a hard worker; he was also a passionate handyman who found joy in working on his truck and embracing the simple pleasures of life. Whether he was grilling up a feast for his family or spending quality time with his kids and grandkids, Curt believed that family was everything. 

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of thirty years, Ruthie Simmons of DeRidder, LA; son, Billy Keith Page and Sue of Alexandria, LA; daughter, Monica Page of DeRidder, LA; brother, Darrell Simmons of DeRidder, LA; sisters, Marilyn Dobson and John of DeRidder, LA, Kayla McMahon of Magnolia, TX; grandchildren, Hannah, Alice, Alexandria, Hunter, Keegan and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Shelton and Elva Simmons; brother, Shelby Simmons.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at The Pentecostals of Mittie Church in Mittie, LA. Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 18, 2025, also at The Pentecostals of Mittie Church in Mittie, LA. Brother C.W. Dowden will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Simmons, Robin Earl Simmons, Greg Wallace, Aaron Coon, Jason Mitchell. Burial will follow at Simmons Cemetery in Mittie, LA.
