Barbara Elaine Schmitt Hindsman

Barbara Elaine Schmitt Hindsman, 82, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Wednesday, January 8, 2020.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Grant Miller of Humble, TX; daughters, Robbie Nelson and John of Rosepine, LA, Rhonda Godfrey and Andrew of DeRidder, LA, Danna Hindsman of Sulphur, LA, Donna Reeder of Sulphur, LA; sisters, Mary Sautter of Merryville, LA and Yvonne Lorenz of Oretta, LA; eleven grandchildren; six great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dane Hampton Hindsman; son, Garry Lynn Miller; grandson, Shaun Christopher Miller; parents, Grant Lyle and Alice Mary Schmitt; sister, Vesta Foshee.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 10, 2020 from 12:00 PM until the time of service at 2:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Brother Jim Miers and Doctor Keith Manuel will officiate the service.  Pallbearers will be John Lorenz, Roy Lorenz, Frank Lorenz, Jeremy Miller, Justin Miller, Jordan Hindsman and John Nelson II. Burial will follow at Cooper Cemetery in Merryville , LA.

The family would like to thank those from the Brighton Bridge Hospice for their gentle care of our loved one.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or your choice of a charitable organization.
