Barbara D. Bickham

Barbara D. Bickham, 73, of DeRidder, Louisiana, departed this life on Saturday, February 11, 2012.  Barbara was born on January 23, 1939 to Rev. Woodrow Wilson Batties and Edna Dozier Batties. Barbara graduated from George Washington Carver High School in 1956.  She received a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Grambling State University in 1965.  She retired from the Beauregard Parish School Board.

Those left to cherish her memory are, husband, Lonnie E. Bickham and six children, Gloria Robinson (Dennis), Ouida Batties, Gerald Bickham (Vernice), Marvin Bickham(Claudia), Alvin Wilson (Adopted Son), and Beverly Henry-Ford(Larone).She is survived by ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, one sister, Ina Ray Johnson of DeRidder, Louisiana; one cousin, Joyce Bluitt and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 17, 2012 from 9:00am to 11:00am at Star of Bethlehem Baptist Church in DeRidder, Louisiana. Funeral service will be Friday, February 17, 2012 at 11:00am at Star of Bethlehem Baptist Church.  Rev. Keith W. Stevenson will officiate. Burial will follow at Community Cemetery in DeRidder, Louisiana
