Barbara Ann Hebert Bolton of DeRidder, LA passed from this life on Thursday, June 7, 2018 surrounded by her family at the age of 84 years.
She was born on August 14, 1933 in Iota, LA, and moved to DeRidder, in 1952, where she met her husband, Buddy Bolton and they were married for 56 years. Together they made their home in DeRidder and worked side by side as owners of the Western Auto Store in DeRidder for 33 years. Then she taught Pre-K for 10 years at “The Education Center” before retiring. Barbara was actively involved in the Civitan Club, Daughters of the American Revolution, First Baptist Church Sunday School Director And Teacher, ACTS Retreat, Catholic Daughters, Magnolia Home Makers, Magnolia 2009 Woman of the Year, Knights of Columbus, Commissioner-In-Charge for her voting precinct for several years, she served the Beauregard Volunteer for Family and Community Organization as Literacy Chairman, judged 4-H projects, and volunteered accepting and displaying exhibits for the Beauregard Parish Fair each year. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of DeRidder for forty years before uniting with Grace Church in 1993, then returning to her Catholic upbringing in 2010, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in DeRidder.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Cheryl Bolton Davidson and husband Wallace “Buddy”, Elizabeth Bolton Runge and husband Michael, all of DeRidder, LA; foster son, Reverend William “Billy” Nash and wife LeeLee of Mangham, LA; grandchildren: Christopher Runge of Spokane, WA, Kristin Touchet and husband Mike of Porter, TX, Amanda Fortenberry and husband Len of Tupelo, MS, Brittany Runge and Caleb Miers of DeRidder, LA; great grandchildren: Alex and Gita Runge, Jordan and Taryn Touchet, Gavin, Cadyn and Bentley Miers, Carter, Conner and Brooke Fortenberry; nephews and nieces: Tom Bolton and wife Brenda of The Woodlands, TX, Janet Hebert Pitre and husband Pete of Merryville, LA, Debbie Hebert of Moss Bluff, LA, Carlton Hebert of Merryville, LA, John Hebert and wife Laurie of Baytown, TX, Renee Hebert of Spring, TX, Joel Hebert and wife Alma of Edinburg, TX, J.D. Hebert and wife Kay of Borger, TX; special friend, Frank Foitek; and extended family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Murel Picney “Buddy” Bolton; father, Lucien Hebert; mother, Helen Doucet Hebert Prudhomme; brothers, Austin Lee Hebert, Sr., John Carlton Hebert, Thompson Wallace Hebert; granddaughter, Stephanie Elizabeth Futrell, and grandson, Joshua Mychael Touchet.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 8, 2018 from 5:00-9:00PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home, in DeRidder, LA. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 09, 2018 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in DeRidder. Father Jude Brunnert, M.S. will officiate. Pallbearers will be Len Fortenberry, Danny Gibson, Austin Hebert, William “Billy” Nash, Pete Pitre and Joe Foitek. Burial will follow at Beauregard Cemetery in DeRidder, LA.
