Arthur Leroy Terrell

Arthur Leroy Terrell, 86, of Hurst, TX, passed from this life on Tuesday, January 24, 2023.

Arthur graduated from Sugartown High School in 1954. He went on to major in Agriculture at LSU. Arthur joined the United States Navy and served as a radar/sonar operator until 1959. In 1960, he attended airline school and held several positions in the airport until he retired from Continental Airlines. Arthur loved to read, he enjoyed comedies and live music and theater. He was passionate about gospel music, jewelry making and keeping plants. He had a sweet tooth and loved desserts.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Tommy Terrell and Teresa of Deville, LA;  grandchildren, Melinda Nall, Ladayna Parker, Jennifer Banks, Tommy A. Terrell; eleven great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marian Jeanette Terrell; son, Liles Terrell; granddaughter, Tiffany Banks; great grandson, Manuel Granado; parents, Ardis “Art” and Rose Lee Terrell;  brother, Charles Terrell.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 30, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at Smyrna Baptist Church in DeRidder, LA. Pastor Tim Lee will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Caleb Nall, Joshua Nall, Joseph Nall, Tommy A. Terrell, Kenneth Terrell and Paul Diron. Burial will follow at Smyrna Cemetery in DeRidder, LA.
