Arnold C. (A.C.) Norris 80 of Merryville, LA passed from this life on Monday, March 29, 2010 in Lake Charles, LA. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Funeral Services will be Thursday, April 1, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Rev. J.C. Skinner and Rev. Steve Bush will be officiating.

Arnold is survived by wife of 53 years: Mary Norris of Merryville, LA; Son: Dr. Norman Dale Norris of New Orleans, LA; Daughter: Brenda Gail Norris of Boles, AR; Brother: Sidney Foreman of England; Sister: Rose Foreman Mertens of Alexandria, LA; Two grandchildren: Sarah Norris of Orlando, FL and Danee' Norris of Boles, AR.

He was proceeded in death by his mother: Viola Broughton Norris; Father: Anderson Crawford Norris; Sister: June Norris O'Neal.

Mr. Norris was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Merryville. He was a retired teacher and a member of Masonic Lodge #329. He served during the Korean War in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Norris earned an undergraduate degree from the University of Houston in 1971 and a masters degree from Sam Houston University in 1974. He was an accomplished musician and performed with local church and civic groups.
