Angela Frances Archer

Angela Frances Archer, 54, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Thursday, September 9, 2021.

Angela loved children, having spent most of her life teaching them both in the classroom and in the swimming pool. Her passion for education was evident in the way she spoke so fondly of her students, even years after they had left her classroom, and in the way she poured her whole heart into giving them a meaningful, nurturing environment at school. As a swimming instructor, she gave countless children of all ages the confidence and courage to be strong swimmers, and she did so with love, patience and kindness that made a lasting impression on both her students and their parents.

When she wasn’t teaching children, Angela enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. She was passionate about music, loved singing and playing her guitar, and could always brighten a room with her beautiful smile and infectious laughter. Her love was fierce; she always saw the best in people and tried to be a comfort t to them in times of need. Even when things got difficult for her, she always made time to be there for the people she loved.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Zachary Alexander Scott Hagood and April of DeRidder, LA; mother, Linda Archer of DeRidder, LA; brother, Gregory Archer and Pam of DeRidder, LA; niece, Elizabeth Stokes and Ben of CA and a host of cousins, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Daniel Archer.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 13, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Funeral service will be at 12:00 PM, Tuesday, September 14, 2021, also at Myers Colonial Funeral Home. Brother Lindsey Burns will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Robert Johns, Joey Wilkerson, Randy Archer, Mike Vidrine, James Fletcher, Trent McKee and Danny Kay. Burial will follow at Lewis Cemetery in DeRidder, LA.
