Alton B. "Jack" Mitchell

Alton B. “Jack” Mitchell, 84, of Bon Wier, TX, passed from this life on Thursday, December 5, 2013 in Newton, TX.  Those left to cherish his memory are his sisters, Anna Faye Hryhorchuk of Carthage, TX and Shirley R. Thompson of Merryville, LA; and a host of nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Thursie Mitchell; brother, Henry Franks; sister, Myrece Davis; nephews, Charles Thompson and Robert Langston.

Visitation will be on Saturday, December 7, 2013 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA.  Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 8, 2013 at 1:00pm at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home.  Rev. Glen Burks will officiate.  Burial will follow at Meadows Cemetery in Merryville, LA.
