David Lee “Heavy D” Johnson departed this life on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 in Lake Charles, Louisiana at Christus St. Patrick‘s Hospital.
He was born in DeRidder, Louisiana on December 27, 1952, to the son of the late John Arthur Johnson and Bertha White Buckley. David served in the US Army national guard for many years. He was a happy and friendly man who spent his days sitting in his room watching his favorite TV shows or sports programs. He loved reading his Bible. His favorite scriptures were from the book of Genesis. He would always share whatever he had with others.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Don Johnson; parents, John Johnson and Bertha White Buckley, grandparents and uncles. He leaves to cherish his memories his sister, Monte’ J. Woods of DeRidder, Louisiana and his nephews, R.J. Woods of DeRidder, Louisiana, Ryan Woods of DeRidder, Louisiana, and Courtney Freeman of Jasper, Texas and a host of relatives and friends.
